Mr. Muhammad Furqan Zia | Wireless Communication | Best Researcher Award

Mr. Muhammad Furqan Zia is a Scientific Researcher currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering at the University of Quebec at Trois-Rivières (UQTR), Canada, with a focus on Explainable AI-aided Semantic Communication at the Physical and MAC layers. Prior to this, he completed Ph.D. coursework at Koç University, Turkey, and holds an M.S. from Antalya Bilim University, Turkey, and a B.E. from DHA Suffa University, Pakistan. His research spans physical layer design for next-generation Wi-Fi, cognitive radio networks, physical layer security, and semantic communication for intelligent systems. He has worked with leading institutions and industry partners including Vestel Electronics and TÜBİTAK, contributing to both academic and industrial R&D. He has actively participated in IEEE 802.11 standardization meetings as a potential voter. His work has resulted in multiple journal articles, conference papers, and patents, particularly in the areas of secure and reliable communication systems for 6G and IoT. As of now, Mr. Zia has a total of 56 citations, an h-index of 3, and an i10-index of 2 in his works. Furqan has been awarded multiple fully funded scholarships from top global institutions, including UQTR (Canada), Koç University (Turkey), Xi’an Jiaotong University (China), and Kumoh National Institute of Technology (South Korea).
